Alice Lee (1858-1939) was one of the first women to graduate from the University of London, receiving not one, but two degrees: a Bachelor of Science in 1884 and a Bachelor of Arts in 1885! In 1901 she received a PhD after she applied statistical methods to evolutionary biology. Alice worked as a “computer” at University College, London and calculated shell trajectories during WWI.
